John gone to banquet of bowling & party at Caty's.

Settled discrepancy with Bob. Gave him back $6.50

Called Elsa Woodcock over phone. Jim still at hospital.

Elsa Gewetski phoned.

Marjorie & I shopped about ear phones. Tested at Soustone[?] by lady. (507 Sherland Bldg). Audiovox man tested my ears at home, not much success. (328 Sherland Bldg).

Had lunch at Philadelphia. I treated for once. Mary come in eve. Fixed my drapes. Got them at Star Store.

John brought nice porch chair.

John went to JW league supper for bowling league.

I dropped to sleep at 6:15 - slept thru to 10:30 PM.

Feet bum all day.

Mrs. Barker phoned, wished me a happy birthday.

Chas & Sib come about 1:30 & spent an hour here. Gave me 2 very pretty Hafs[?].

Had letter & card from Mary Brown.

Sent Jim Woodcock get well card.

I went to early church. Come home & went to bed for a while, so dizzy yet.

John slept until 12:30 PM.

Took bouquet of tulips over for Jim who is still in hospital.

John painted screens & worked in yard all afternoon.

Took me groc. shopping A&P. $11.00

Medicines have not helped much. Just would get over dizzy spells & hear better.

Throat is bad.

Mary & Fred brought laundry but did not stay long. Ruth called about birthday. Told her not to have supper, me not good.

Mary took me for appt at Dr. Crawford. Said after examining that chest was OK. Throat hurts me so much. He prescribed throches [troches]. Got them at Rex Pharmacy - Portage ave $1.35

I did not go to Sally's birthday. 13 yrs old. Sent her a $1.00 bill.

Was in bed most of day - cold developed & throat bad.

John over to Sally party & gave her a yellow blouse. All there except Kay.

Ruth come about 8 AM & helped with dishes & then took clothes I still had not ironed from last week.

Jim Woodcock had a heart attack - at Hospital.

I did not go to church. Ruth & Woody here a while in morning. Had dinner at Airport then drove to Michigan City & wandered about the lake where people were fishing.

Fred dropped in about 4 PM.

John took Hyacinths to Pa grave & planted seed on lot.

Bob Clarke back about 10 PM. gone 3 wks.

Mary took me to Dr. Crawford for check up. Blood sugar test seems OK, found nothing radical wrong. Blood pressure OK. Called it Deteriation [deterioration?]. Prescribed 2 medicines & gave me apy2[?] shot in arm.

John worked in yard all afternoon, planted grass seed & Charlotte Armstrong rosebush.

Prescription was $14.00 for bottle.

Went to Lab at 8:15. Charge $3.00. Three nurses took a stab until the last was successful.

John took me doon. [down? home?]

Have a bronchial cough, first cough this winter.

My hearing is awful,

Mary took me to see Dr. Crawford at Colfax ave. Seems nice man. On 2nd floor, not so nice for me. No blood pressure. Sent me to SB Lavatory [Laboratory?] for B. sugar test.

Margaret come about 11 AM.

John practice game, home soon.

Went alone in morning to see Dr. Deitle & he says my hearing is not at all good on left side, right some better but need a hearing aide. Feel so discouraged at my general condition, am so dizzy all day long, but maybe it will clear up. My faith & prayer will surely help me as always.

[in upper margin] Judy brought a little creamer from Niagara Falls on her trip.

Went to early church. Home & had 2nd breakfast. Fred M. took John & I to LaSalle hotel for dinner. Come home & shorely[shortly?] R & Wood & family come. Gave me carnation corsage. John got me pot of Easter Lilies. Mary & family come & spent afternoon talking & looking at flowers. So nice to have them here & they had lunch with us which to me was the nicest gift of all. Left at 9:30. Really a big day.
