Ruth A. Anderson, 84, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in Memorial Hospital. Ruth was born Oct. 1, 1917, to William and Lena (Footer) Fiedler in South Bend, Ind. Ruth was a graduate of South Bend Central High School. On Aug. 20, 1939, she married the late A. E. "Woody" Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Crawford; and by brothers, Fred and John Fiedler. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Michael) Carmichael of South Bend; sons, Tom (Kay) Anderson and Ted (Tracy) Anderson, both of South Bend; and by her six grandchildren. Ruth was an avid sports fan. She always rooted for the Indiana college teams, especially I.U. Funeral services for Ruth will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Memorial Valley, with a graveside service. Memorials in Mrs. Anderson's name may be made to the charity of your choice. Services are arranged through Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street.
